Miguel Huerta, MSW
Miguel Huerta (he/him/his) serves as the Community Impact Manager at More Than Food Consulting. Miguel brings a wealth of social work experience to his role supporting food banks and pantries to offer connections to community resources with warm referrals and develop community food hubs.
The first college graduate in his family, Miguel attained a Master of Social Work from University of Pennsylvania and holds a certificate in Trauma Informed Practices. Miguel has served youth and young adults in various settings including alternative education, non-profits, and grassroots community efforts. In 2014, Miguel became a founding member of the Board of Directors for the Move Mountains Project in San Luis, Colorado with his mentor Shirley Romero Otero.
Most recently, Miguel served for 5 years building and expanding student support programs at MSU Denver including the student-led food pantry and resource hub, Rowdy’s Corner. Miguel is an Affiliate Faculty member in the Department of Social Work. When he is not at MTFC, Miguel can be found in nature with his dog, doing yoga, or enjoying live music or art.
